2015 Color of the Year: Marsala

Well, it is finally 2015! With a new year comes many exciting opportunities, trends and experiences. One of our favorite annual trend-setting traditions is the announcement of the Pantone color of the year. This year was announced as the Year of Marsala. While Marsala has always existed, of course (at least since the invention of Pantone colors), Pantone selected it as  the color that will define many new trends in the current year.

Marsala is a beautiful choice, labeled by Pantone as a "hearty yet stylish" tone. As Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of Pantone stated, “Marsala is a subtly seductive shade, one that draws us in to it’s embracing warmth.”

Of course the color of the year doesn’t necessarily have any bearing on which color(s) you might choose for your wedding day. It does, however, give our team a perfect opportunity to stretch and design around new color combinations and palettes. For event planners, new colors are fun to work with and explore! And the ways with which this color can be used at weddings and other occasions seem endless. Versatile, the inspiration boards below show some combinations using Marsala as the foundation.

Follow up and let us know what you think. In the meantime, we are wishing you and yours a wonderful new year, full of color and inspiration!
