While Memorial Day weekend is often marked by days at the beach and barbeques, this year my Memorial Day weekend was filled with memories of a different kind… a wedding rehearsal and a wedding for Michelle and Roger!
What was so special about Michelle and Roger’s wedding was that they stayed so true to the purpose of the day… to celebrate their marriage! This down-to-earth couple radiated with love for one another, which made the day so much fun to plan, and execute.
The love birds elected to go with a venue that was close to their condo so that the day would involve a few less logistics for the guests. However, when you live across the street from Lincoln Park, it’s no wonder that was an ideal option for a venue! We started off the celebration with the ceremony in front of North Pond. A bag piper with the Chicagoland Irish Bagpipers then led the guests to North Pond Restaurant, where string band The Barbara Silverman Trio and a cocktail reception greeted guests. A plated dinner and program gave the crowd a bit of time to dine and rest before Latin band James Sanders & Conjunto kicked off the dancing for the evening. What fun!
I was joined in the planning and execution of the wedding by some of the best partners in Chicago: Lorenzo de Gregorio Photography (photography), Welsh Studios (videography), Bittersweet Pastry Shop (wedding cake), Kehoe Designs (florals) and Indestructo Party Rentals.
